Alfiah Strohal, the founder of Kiidu, is a mother of 2 who has been living and working in Asia, in the Middle East and in Europe. Always travelling with her kids, she has been looking for helpers all over the world. So when she talks about nannies, she knows what she’s talking about.

Having been struggling several time to find the right person at the right time, she came up with the idea of connecting qualified caregivers and the families who need them.

But Kiidu (the name comes from an Estonian word that means… I can’t remember what but something nice!) wants to be more than a simple service. Alfiah wants to help these nannies, local and foreigners, to be properly trained, find a job quickly and make a living. She insists that Kiidu is also a social enterprise that does more than just providing services and leads.

Launched in April 2015, the startup is still bootstrapping and fine-tuning.  Two co-founders have joined Alfiah and the team is now trying to raise US$ 300,000 to properly launch the website both in Indonesia (where Alfiah is from) and in Thailand (where the team is based).
