Robbie is the name of the founder, and Paleo stands for the Paleo(lithic) diet, a fat diet based on the food humans’ ancient ancestors might likely have eaten, such as meat, nuts and berries.
Paleo Robbie doesn’t necessarily focus on losing weight but on eating healthy food, which means no process food, no MSG, etc. but also no grain, no legumes and no alcohol. Paleo Robbie offers different menu or an a-la-carte section with meals priced 299 to 399 baht.
Founded in March 2013 by Robbie Verspui and his brother Erik, Paleo Robbie has now 23 employees (including their own delivery staff), more than 1,000 customers and they deliver an average of 300 meals a day. With more than 80% of foreign customers (because of the ban on pasta and rice meals) and a focus on Bangkok only, the company knows that it needs to attract a broader audience among the local (Thai) customers to be viable. However it is already profitable and plans to grow slowly but steadily without the help of external investors.
