“Video Games, the Serious Business of Fun” is an article by The Economist. Although it has been written in 2011, the article is still valid today. Games are not taken seriously, but the business that they generate is. And will be more and more.
To explore the Video Games industry in Thailand and in SEA, we have invited a panel of local gaming companies for presentations and panels:
– Pocket PlayLab: Run by Jakob Lykkegaard Pedersen and Thomas Andreasen, Pocket PlayLab is THE Mobile Game Studio everyone is talking about!
– Sanuk Games: Yan Marchal’s game studio is a smaller company, but they have already released games on Facebook, Google Play and Apple’s AppStore, Sony’s Playstation Store, Nintendo’s eShop and worked for Activision, Eidos, Samsung Mobile, Sony, etc.
– Infinity Levels: Infinity Levels, the startup founded by Nikki Assavathorn (Avalable) and Tanapon ‘Top’ Petapanipiboon, is a new player, but they have just raised US$500,000 in funding and will launch worldwide their first big game, Ranch Run, on iOS and Android, in January 2015.
How big is the gaming industry in Thailand and SEA? What are the challenges and opportunities of starting a gaming company in Bangkok? What are the market trends for 2015?
These are some of the questions that will be answered during the event.
In addition, each company will introduce itself, its team, its projects and its markets.
Join us on Tuesday 20 January 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel (Sukhumvit soi 26) for this special event!
